AYCE plays long sets. We don't play long sets but we did already tell Cobrangutan that we would split a set with them, otherwise I would have done this.
Any other wisdom you have for the situation would be great.
P.S. Rob, when we gonna practice?

If I was on tour I would rather play with DRI than get paid. They could always sell merch.

Local bands, I understand wanting to open for DRI, but while you're playing I'm going to be thinking of Ramming Speed, and how awesome it would be if they were playing instead of you.

Bands pay heed. Do not play longer than 15 mins. Hit 'em hard, leave 'em wanting more. Don't overstay your welcome. Good god. Why do 90% of bands not understand this concept?

i didnt imagine playing more than 20 tops. i dont think anyone from ayce checks this board. talk to bo or gus about this i dont handle the business end, just creative. Bands pay heed. Do not play longer than 15 mins. Hit 'em hard, leave 'em wanting more. Don't overstay your welcome. It's like that band that chooses a 3 minute cover song. For the first verse to chorus everyone is going nuts; dancing and singing along. Then as the song goes on the participants shed to the sides until you're left with one really weird (possibly mentally disturbed) guy that is still going off, and who will probably be the first to bombard you after your set about how great a choice that cover was and how he is your biggest fan. 2 Bands later he's still standing next to you talking, still on his first breath, and you're thinking of creative ways make yourself deaf. I cannot watch a band for longer than 15mins. Even stuff I REALLY like. easy for a band to do when they've had the same 15 minutes for 5+ years. I keed, I keed, i understand the sentiment, but this seems like a real "get off my lawn, you darn kids." thing to say. shitty bands shouldn't play longer than 15-20 minutes, awesome bands that have a good catalog and now how to keep the live flow going, can play for like an hour before i lose interest. just because all you jaded dorks cant wait to get back to the bar and compete to land the best one liner about so and so's personality defect (i know because i do it too, with a good portion of you), doesn't mean everyone feels the same way. not to belittle joke telling/shit talking by any means, thats more than half of the fun to be had at shows. I'm not trying to sound all creative freedom/artsy fartsy sarich on everyone, but if D.R.I only played for 15 minutes id be really angry, and demand the money that i didn't pay cause i'm playing, back. then maybe i'd laugh that they pulled a fast one on the unsuspecting public. but then again, what do i know, i haven't even put any songs to some wax yet, just cd-r demos and cheap tapes. now, go back to bestowing punk rock commandments upon the heathens.

I hear ya cluckin big chicken. NEVER thought I would be an old guy (26?) complaining about this kind of shit. 3 band show: knock yourself out. 6 band show: play your best 5 songs and hit the bricks! And Jimmy, you know damn well that DRI argument is totally not relevent here;) Headling bands need not keep to this rule.
