(tl;dr? skip to just the bold parts then.)
first off, we've been writing new songs for an upcoming 10 inch release, to be entitled "dawn of the dude". we're at about the halfway point and im stoked on the direction the new stuff is going; i think you fine folks will be as well.
anyway, so, ray came along and tried to quit our band a few weeks ago, apparently feeling bad like he has not been contributing lately since all of his time nowadays is spent either working or breast-feeding his baby. he thanked us for the most fun times of his life and told us to go find someone more useful and less busy.
we all ridiculed ray to his face for a while and then told him he was not allowed to quit, and that leon and i had recently decided that cross exam is going to celebrate our bi-centennial one day by simply adding more and more members until its eventually possible for multiple cross exams to tour the country at once. think of it like franchising; all cross exams kick back up to the OG for use of the product. now seeking applicants!
point of the story is, cross exam has now officially added one Jimmy "Wolfdaddy" Eberle to the fold, in the position of "also bass". this is remarkable, as there has been no change in core lineup since we added justin some years ago and none whatsoever before that. make him feel welcome.
now, as this was explained to both jimmy and ray, ray is kinda like "General" bass player and jimmy is "Lieutenant". that is to say, ray outranks jimmy and can thusly tear the bass out of his hand at any moment of any show and start slapping his dick against it, as ray is wont to do, but in the meantime jimmy is holding down the fort (quite ably, i should add) for at least until ray has more time again.
"BUT WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY??", you ask.
in a nutshell, come to the NOVEMBER 20TH show at FUBAR with OUTBREAK, THE HUMANOIDS, IRON GUTS KELLY, and REIGNITION and see our first show with jimmy! probably also be the first show where ray assaults jimmy for the bass onstage. more importantly than all that, we are going to play as many of the new songs as i can finish lyrics for in time as well, so all new cross exam set! exciting.
beeeeeee theeerrrree
